HDVideo > Dickie Gorham, driving the #3 X-Mod was having a good run in the Trophy Dash until his steering wheel came off! At least he kept it in the family, as the #32 driver, Wes Benson, is related to Dickie.
HDVideo > Jake Boles, driving the J7 makes a pass for the lead coming to the white flag but gets tangled up with Christy Georges in the 44. The 44 car gets so high after hitting the wall that the lights underneath the flagstand were completely taken out. Both cars were unable to finish the race with only one lap remaining.
HDVideo > Back around 2000-2001, before YouTube made it easy, I would post sequences of single video frames on www.HighDesertRacing.com to highlight questionable calls made by track officials. I called that section of the site "You Be The Judge". More recently, the calls have been much better, although I'm sure some would disagree with that statement. Based on this incident, maybe it's time to bring back "You Be The Judge" to YouTube.
HDVideo > El Paso Speedway Park, El Paso, TX - 8/28/2009. Robert Herrera, driving the #9 Renegade Winged Sprint Car catches a tire berm in turn #1 during the Sprint Main Event. Robert was uninjured and returned to compete the following night at Southern New Mexico Speedway in Las Cruces, NM.
HDVideo > Southern New Mexico Speedway, August 1, 2009 Winged Sprint Heat 3. Mike Stringfield #11 flips in turn four.
HDVideo > Kyle Sager, Renegade Winged Sprint #20, flips after attempting to pass on the inside and jumped a wheel on the #36 car of Joe Alvarado. Kyle was OK and able to race the same car the following night.
HDVideo > During the Southern New Mexico Speedway Modified Main event on 6/13/2009, the #131 of Royal Jones and the #44 of Christie Georges had a minor on-track exchange. Be sure to watch closely because you might miss it....
HDVideo > Legend #79L flips after contact with a lapped car at the flagstand. Southern New Mexico Speedway, May 23, 2009.
